Yesterday, Id Software launched its first new IP since it shipped Quake in 1996, and as many PC gamers discovered, the studio probably should have waited a bit longer before releasing Rage. Screen tearing and texture issues are making the PC version of the post-apocalyptic shooter a mess for some, and id is scrambling to work with GPU makers to get updated drivers out the door.

Posting on the Bethesda Blog, id confirmed the Rage issues that many PC gamers are experiencing and said it is working to resolve them as quickly as possible. It noted that the original Rage driver update for AMD cards is having "issues" and should not be used.

Later, the studio posted on its Twitter account that fixes for two manufacturers' cards are now ready for download: "If you have an AMD/ATI graphics card, the new RAGE Catalyst drivers are out! BE SURE to grab them immediately."

Id added that updates for Nvidia drivers will be available soon. The studio recommends that PC gamers who continue to experience problems contact Bethesda support.

Stay tuned, we'll have our full Rage review ready for you later today.
